Alright everyone, I have to tell you my quilting project is really slowing down with the quilt blocks getting more involved. I was thinking I would finish this project in two more years but at this point I feel it's going to take a lot longer. I think I need to take the pressure off myself and not talk about a deadline. I am just going to plug along and enjoy each quilt.
Along with doing this project, I am also running my own quilting business, selling "Lovie Lap Quilts" and Baby Quilts. In order to do that, I occasionally make quilts that are not related to my quilting project. The bottom line is, I am in this for the long hall! I am enjoying the project of making 200 quilts from my favorite quilt book, "Around the Block with Judy Hopkins". If the total project takes five or six years, so be it.
Quilt block 108, Flock of Geese, is another example of what you can do with half square triangles. I wanted to put my own twist into this quilt so I decided to add a variety of blues.

When I started laying them out on my design wall, I started seeing a striped look that I really enjoyed. As you can see, I have practicing my feathers with free motion quilting. What fun! This is one of those quilts that looks a lot better in person than the pictures. (I wish I had a photographer in the family.)
