Quilt Block Number "20", Economy Patch

Economy Patch is a great quilt block when you are trying to feature one main fabric with a larger print. I chose this block because the fabric I was using had a beautiful rose pattern. I didn't want too much around it to distract the main fabric.

This is a very easy pattern and great for a beginner.

The background of the main rose fabric is light so I added a darker first border to made the rose fabric pop. My completed quilt is a "Lovie Lap Quilt". Take a look.

The Summer is Over

I have been very fortunate to be able to spend my summer on the coast of Maine. My Mom has had a cottage there that I have been going to for over 50 years. It is my most favorite place to be. There are so many memories not to mention it is a beautiful spot.

Needless to say I have not been blogging all summer. I just took some much needed time off. But here it is September and I am ready to get back to sewing and blogging.

I did some sewing during the summer and will be showing you the quilt patterns I have done from "Around the Block with Judy Hopkins", my favorite quilt book.

I hope you join me as I continue to quilt the 200 quilt blocks.
