Starry Path was a little more involved than it looks. It took a bit of time for all the piecing. I had to pay close attention to the piecing with all the points making sure they all matched.
Once I got all the blocks sewn together, I had a lot of options on how I wanted to sew them. Here are a few of the options I was thinking about.
Here is what I decided to go with.
The Starry Path Baby Quilt. You can see my other baby quilts from my website. To follow my blog, click on the RSS Feed button to the right. Now on to quilt block 88!
Indian is quilt block number 86. This is a nice easy quilt block with squares and half square triangles. This is a great quilt block when you have a larger print fabric that you want to highlight. I had this fabulous leaf fabric that was perfect for the Indian quilt block.
I made a "Lovie Lap Quilt" with the Indian quilt block. I had a lot of fun with my free motion quilting designs. I used the leaf patterns from the fabric as the quilting designs.
I spend my summers on the coast of Maine with my Mom. Yes, I leave my husband home alone. (He comes and visits but not as much as I would like.) Now I am back in New Hampshire with my wonderful husban, Ken. Re-entry is always interesting. We are very happy to be together again, but there are a few adjustments for the both of us.
I have been home for a week and am starting to get back in the swing of things. Alright, on to quilt block 85, Turnstile. Turnstile is alot of fun especially for a baby quilt because it is a double pinwheel pattern.
This is a nice and easy quilt block. The quilt comes together fairly quickly. Of course, your points in the center of the pinwheel are important. You want to take your time to ensure all the points meet. Because I was making this a baby quilt, I chose a variety of colors for the pinwheels. I love the end result.
I hope you give the Turnstile Block a try.
I have been quilting for close to 30 years and after loosing my job three years ago, I am now able to do what I love, QUILT! I specialize in baby quilts and have designed the "Lovie Lap Quilt" with pockets.
