Quilt Block 102 "Devil's Claw"

I don't like the name of this quilt block so I did a little research.  I couldn't find much except that it is one of the biblical named quilt blocks.  Perhaps the woman who named this quilt block was having some sort of trouble.  I find it amazing how the names of quilt blocks have been passed down through families of quilters until finally they were published. 

So here is the Devil's Claws quilt block.  What do you think?  I'm not really sure what I would have called it.  It looks like an hour glass but there is already a quilt block called that.   I also found in my investigating that there are a few other Devil's Claws quilt blocks that are different from this one.  I think I found at least three different patterns with the same name.  I'm sure this happens a lot. 

Anyway, this was a fun pattern to sew.  I especially like the four blocks sewn together.  To me it has an Indian feel.  I might have called this block, Totem pole.
