I made this quilt into a baby quilt and did alot of free motion quilting. I am really enjoying free motion quilting and all the different designs you can use in a quilt.
Wow, quilt block 84! Broken Star was another fun quilt block to make from my favorite quilt book, "Around the Block with Judy Hopkins". You can see below how I pieced this block. Broken Star isn't a difficult block, but not one to try if you are just beginning. It is very important to match up your points. There is alot of squaring up in the block. But when they four blocks are together, you loose the stars. Of course my pink star is really light so doesn't stand out as much. Now you really see the yellow fabric and the green star is totally turned into a different pattern. I made this quilt into a baby quilt and did alot of free motion quilting. I am really enjoying free motion quilting and all the different designs you can use in a quilt. Here is the completed quilt. My son is holding it for me on my sister's new boat. Oh how I love sewing in the summer on the coast of Maine!
