It snowed yesterday here in New Hampshire and when the sun came out today... wow! It was so pretty. I love snowy days. They make great quilting days.
Amish Star is a wonderful block. It's not as simple as some of the others, but it is well worth the effort. Take a look:
The pattern on this piece only shows two fabrics. I decided to use four. I had that really pretty floral butterfly print I wanted to highlight. The book suggests that you could reverse the lights and darks in every other quilt block.
And now for my favorite part... seeing the four blocks together to see the new pattern design.
I just love all the designs it makes. You could have alot of fun with a scrap quilt using this block. I will have to use this block again once I'm finished with all 200 quilts.
