Railroad Crossing is a nice easy quilt block, great for beginners.  Ths block moves along very quickly and looks impressive.  You just have half square triangles and squares which you can strip sew.

Quilt block fifty-three is called X Quartet and quilt block fifty-four is called Optical Sawtooth.

X Quartet - I wonder where this name came from.  This is another fun block to put together, nothing harder than half square triangles.  I think if I used a darker green, the pinwheel would have popped more.  It actually looks better in person.  My camera didn't capture the beauty of this quilt. 

Optical Sawtooth is quilt block fifty four.   This is another great block where you can highlight a large print or fussy cut a fabric.  This is a litte trickier block because you want to make sure your points are just right.
